On September 8, 2015 iC consulenten in frames of UNIDO project organized a round table on “Implementation of the Energy Management systems in Ukraine: tools of sub-project selection and financing”. The round table was held in the framework of GEF/UNIDO Technical Assistance Facility UKR IEE on “Implementation of standards of Energy Management systems in Ukrainian industry”, which is financed by the Global Environmental Fund (GEF).
The steps on establishing a selection system of candidates and implementing selection procedures, as well as the steps on establishing a financial mechanism for loan-financing of energy management systems implementation at enterprises were discussed.
The representatives of state authorities, energy experts and scientists were invited to the first session of the round table. The procedures of selection of enterprises for participation in the UNIDO project was presented to the participants. The priority for the project are the industrial enterprises whose energy component of the production cost is not less than 20%.
At the second session the representatives of the banking sector, international financial institutions and donors were present, with whom specific financial mechanisms of the project was discussed. The main point of financial mechanism is to provide access to the loan funds on energy management implementation.
During the lively discussion, organizers heard interesting and useful comments. All comments and suggestions will be taken into account in the further development of financial mechanism and selection procedures, which will be presented during the second round table planned for late October.
