On the 2nd of September 2014 the meeting of Head of State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of UkraineSergey Savchuk with leading experts of the energy market took place. There was a discussion of issue about the financial assistance of the European Union and the optimal mechanisms and purpose of its use.
Mr. Savchuk stated that today it is necessary to find such solutions which have an immediate effect, and that is why the Agency proposes to consider the use of these funds for a refund of 30% of overall project costs to the investor, if such project is a subject to maximum energy savings and replacement of gas by alternative energy sources. Most of participants support such initiative, and Elena Rybak, Managing Director of iC consulenten, noted that the transparent expert selection of projects for this funds will further allow Ukraine attract large investments into this sector.
