Elena Rybak shared tips on effectively implementing infrastructure modernization projects with Ukrainian mayors

On the 9^th of October 2018, Elena Rybak, Managing Director of iC consulenten Ukraine spoke at the International Mayors Summit. The event took place in Kyiv for the third time and traditionally gathered over 150 mayors of the Ukrainian and foreign cities, their deputies and representatives of business community working with projects in the field of municipal development.

The program of the Summit covered three main directions: city cooperation with civil society and active citizens, city cooperation with business and cooperation with twin cities.

Elena spoke in the panel “Expert Talk. Modernization of Communal Infrastructure” with her presentation “Effective Infrastructure Project – 9 Tips for Mayor”. She emphasized the most important elements, which will help mayors to implement infrastructure projects in cities faster and with higher quality. “The Mayor is a main driving force for infrastructure modernization projects in the city. His activity, knowledge and experience affects quality and speed of project implementation, as well as overall city’s transformation.

“The experience of modernization projects in Ukraine allows to define selected success factors for Mayors. Among them: necessity to start with project strategy, once approved by local council to avoid further political obstructing of projects, organizing communication among engaged stakeholders, special attention to establishing the  properly qualified Project Implementation Units, mandatory energy management introduction”, – emphasized Elena Rybak, Managing Director of iC consulenten Ukraine.
