Kick-off meeting and energy audits of buildings were carried out in Khmelnitskyi

In July, 2019 the experts of iC consulenten Ukraine and representatives of Khmelnitskyi city held the kick-off meeting followed by energy audits for 27 public buildings in Khmelnitskyi, namely: kindergartens, schools and medical institutions.

The audits included inspection of thermotechnical and geometrical characteristics of building envelopes, condition of heating system, ventilation and hot-water supply etc. Moreover, the main attention was focused on the integrative approach of energy efficiency and renovation measures implementation. Environmental issues were considered particularly, including inspection of hazardous asbestos containing materials, which have to be considered during the FS preparation and further performance of building thermal modernization works.  

The recommendations on improvement of energy efficiency level of municipal buildings and the feasibility study will be provided as a result of the performed work.  The FS will consist of the project implementation plan, procurement plan, environmental and social management plan, etc.  in order to move forward and receive financing from the IFI in the frames of a big investment programme.

On 29 September 2019, during the regular meeting, the experts of iC  provided the city with a recommended list of institutions for further modernization together with several packages of proposed energy efficiency measures, taking into account the payback period, general percentage of energy saving and social component. The final list of buildings for future modernization includes both educational and medical institutions.
