Last week iC consulenten held two kick-off meetings: on 12th of February in Kupiansk and on 13th of February in Pervomayskiy city with representatives of Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) regarding implementation of energy efficiency measures. The meetings have been held in frames of NEFCO Energy saving credit facility and Nordic Energy Efficiency and Humanitarian Support Initiative for Ukraine. iC consulenten is a consultant of this program in more than 10 cities (in Odesa, Lutsk, Khmelnytskiy, Varash, Sloviansk, Balakleya, Chortkiv, Nikopol, Bilgorod-Dnistrovskiy and now this list includes two more cities: Kupiansk and Pervomayskiy).
The Consultant`s assignment is focused on providing support to the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) at all phases of projects` implementation, including:
– Identification and preparation of the project, where iC team performs energy audits, and further develops business plans.
– Support to PIU during implementation of the project where our experts support procurement process in accordance with international tender procedures, administer contract agreements, control quality of works execution and correspondence to requirements, closely cooperate with the city, provide consultations for technical and financial issues etc.
During the meeting, participants discussed some key issues related to project implementation. Experts of iC consulenten shared their experience of work in other cities. In both cities, planned measures include thermal modernization of kindergartens and schools as well as of street lighting. Thus, besides saving energy recourses these projects have significant social meaning for the cities.
