On the 5th of September, experts of iC Consulenten Ukraine Petro Halabitskiy and Valerii Vyshniakov attended the Nordic Green to Scale event, organized by NEFCO and Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra. The event was dedicated to energy efficiency experience of Nordic countries and possibility for its application in Ukraine. The latest examples of ongoing projects on modernization of district heating systems in Ukrainian cities were discussed as along with changes in the energy sector of Ukraine.
One of the most interesting parts of the event was a presentation of a system “Green scale” (The Nordic Green to Scale for Countries) https://www.sitra.fi/en/ and financial opportunities for green projects. The system arranges existing energy solutions for different countries, including Ukraine.
In addition, a new financing program for energy-efficiency and renewable energy projects through Finland-Ukraine Trust Fund cooperation were presented. The core idea of this support is to provide cities with financial loans up to 10 mil euros which consist of 60% of special fund and 40% given for the technical support.
