Living in the time when change is constant requires solving problems that will appear in future. The built environment can have dramatic effects, both positive and negative, on the natural conditions, as well as the inhabitants of the buildings. Green building is an effort to improve the positive and eliminate the negative of these effects throughout the entire operational lifespan of a building.
Today green building becomes broadly recognized in construction industry as it brings additional value that goes much further than energy efficiency. During the international conference “Green Building: make it happen!” held by URE Club on March 2, 2017 in Kyiv within the International exhibition KyivBuild 2017, best Austrian experience in implementation of LEED certificated projects was presented by Ivan Krofak, LEED AP, iC consulenten Vienna.
Among others, Mr. Krofak emphasized that applying integrative and innovative approach in projects means embracing new technologies and design approaches that result in more sustainable projects with incredible potential for maintenance costs reduction during the project life cycle.
