Irpin – one more city on the way to energy efficiency improvement

On September 14, 2016 iC consulenten presented a Draft Final Report within the project “Feasibility Study for Energy Efficiency Improvements in Buildings of the Irpin municipal establishment” financed by Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO). This presentation took place at the Irpin City Council and was attended by NEFCO representative Mr. Bo Nyhus, Irpin City Mayor Mr. Karplyuk, PIU members, representatives of the educational, cultural and medical institutions of the City.

In frames of the project, iC team of Austrian and Ukrainian experts performed energy scans for 53 institutions, comprising kindergartens, schools, policlinics and clinics, hospitals, culture centres, etc. After that, 21 institutions were approved by the City of Irpin to be included into the investment programme.

Developed by iC consulenten Feasibility Study provides solutions to reduce the energy consumption, which meet the objective of the cities long-term strategy and complies with the specific requirements for grant financing (e.g. E5P), debt Service coverage and financing through internal cash generation.

It is expected that next step in this direction will be signing the loan and grant agreements between NEFCO and the City of Irpin. Implementation of this project will positively affect 8,000 children and their families, as well as 100,000 patients and visitors of medical and cultural institutions.
