Project description

The NEFCO’s Facility for Energy Saving Credits is a loan programme, under the Nordic Environment Development Fund, which is intended to offer small scale financing primarily for energy saving measures in municipally owned buildings such as schools, day care centres, hospitals and sports facilities. The Facility for Energy Saving Credits provides loans to Ukrainian municipalities or municipal companies. The city of Varash initiated the project “Improvement of energy efficiency of budgetary institutions in the city of Varash”

Project data

The project allowed implementation of energy efficiency measures in 18 educational institutions and street lighting systems. The buildings are able to save 2,156 MWh/a of thermal energy, and 873 MWh/a of electrical energy. The comfort level for the buildings’ users increased and positively impacted over 10,000 pupils and staff members. The improved Street Lighting increased safety level in the public areas
