Project Preparation & Implementation Support Services in the city of Lutsk

Project description

The NEFCO’s Facility for Energy Saving Credits is a loan programme, under the Nordic Environment Development Fund, which is intended to offer small scale financing primarily for energy saving measures in municipally owned buildings such as schools, day care centres, hospitals and sports facilities. The Facility for Energy Saving Credits provides loans to Ukrainian municipalities or municipal companies. The city of Lutsk initiated the project “Improvement of energy efficiency of budgetary institutions in the city of Lutsk”

Project data

The project focused on implementing energy efficiency measures in 8 educational institutions. Upon implementation of the energy saving measures the buildings would be able to save 1,711,636 MWh/a of thermal energy, and 73,860 MWh/a of electrical energy. The comfort level for the buildings’ users would increase and positively impact over 5,000 pupils and staff members

Project specifics

Energy efficiency measures included:

• Modernization of the indoor lighting system
• Installation of the automated individual heating units
• Restoration of heat insulation of pipelines
• Thermal modernization of external walls
• Replacement of windows, external entrance and balcony doors
• Thermal modernization of roofing and floor
• Ventilation system improvements
