Project description

The objective of this assignment was to perform the technical and financial due diligence for the implementation of the project on construction of a new municipal solid waste processing and recovery facility.

The specific objectives are to:

  • Perform the detailed technical study of the municipal solid waste infrastructure in the City of Kryvyi Rih;
  • Analyze and make recommendations on the operational, institutional, environmental and social issues of the envisaged upgrade of the municipal solid waste infrastructure;
  • Calculate and articulate the project’s green impacts according to the Green Economy Transition approach;
  • Analyze the project’s potential to meet the eligibility criteria for the EBRD Green Cities programme;
  • Review the proposed investment, calculate financial projections, bankability of the project, prepare generic technical specifications and optimal technical solution

The City of Kryvyi Rih has developed an investment project to construct a new municipal solid waste processing and recovery facility with an annual input capacity of 150,000 tons

Project specifics

The Project is proposed as a trigger for launching the Green City Action Plan through participation of Kryvyi Rih in the EBRD Green Cities Programme.
