On January 28th, 2015 the conference “Energy efficiency and energy management in industry of Ukraine as a path to sustainable economic development” took place in Dnepropetrovsk. The conference was organized by the GIZ project “Energy efficiency and modernization of industry aimed at reduction of climate change ” with the support of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.
Conference participants discussed the current problems and ways to improve energy efficiency in the industrial sector of Ukraine. Vitaly Shapovalenko, the expert of iC consulenten in the field of energy policy participated in the conference on the subject of “Initiatives to improve energy efficiency in the industry at the national level. Strategy, plans and reforms”. The presentation covered the situation in the field of energy efficiency, presented the problematic factors and barriers that hinder introduction of energy efficiency, as well as made and overview on the implemented and planned activities of the Ukrainian government.
