New life for old school building in Staryi Krym village

Major repair of specialized school No 46 has started under NEFCO financial support in Staryi Krym village in Mariupol City Council.

The building, constructed in 1987, does not meet modern technical requirements. Therefore, with the support of iC experts it was decided to perform a major repair of this building with implementation of energy efficiency measures: thermal insulation of building envelope, heating systems modernization as well as ventilation and internal lighting. Implementation of these measures will significantly improve comfort for children and teachers and extend effective building lifecycle by 25 years. The meeting with Mariupol City Council officials, contractor and designer representatives, as well as iC expert on technical supervision Vitaliy Shapovalenko resulted in effective solutions of setting up key organizational issues and development of the plan of priority steps within the project. Defined communication lines, thorough planning and shared responsibilities for all involved parties are the keys for successful team work of a client, contractor, consultant and international organization.
