The reconstruction of a dormitory for internally displaced people has been fully implemented in Chortkiv. So far, it has accommodated 40 families of IDPs who fled their homes.
The reconstruction was part of the EU Support for Urgent Housing Needs for Internally Displaced Persons in Ukraine programme, funded by the European Union and managed by Nefco. The city received project implementation consulting services from iC consulenten and CES clean energy solutions.

Replacement of the roof, windows and doors was in the scope of complete thermal modernisation of the building. The project also included the installation of a new heating system, individual heating substation and solid fuel boilers.
The dormitory benefited from the internal renovation of common areas and living quarters. Each smart apartment has furniture, household appliances and sanitary fixtures, while children can now enjoy the dedicated area inside the building and a playground outside. Additionally, the dormitory users and gymnasium students, who share the territory of the building, now have fully arranged safety shelter.
The programme also covered a complete modernisation of the gymnasium’s canteen.
