Ukraine Public Transport Framework: Kryvyi Rih Trolleybus Sub-Project

Project description

The Project addresses key challenges in public transport infrastructure development in Kryvyi Rih, relating to improving access to clean urban transport, and improving capacity and efficiency of public transport services. The Bank’s investment will allow to make trolleybus operations more efficient through improved accessibility, modernized infrastructure, increased average service speed and decreased maintenance intensity and costs

Project data

The city aims to improve public transport services in Kryvyi Rih by financing the acquisition of:

• up to 50 new trolleybuses;
• maintenance and diagnostic equipment, and
• equipment for modernization of traction substations

The project will allow to reduce the upgraded trolleybus fleet’s electricity consumption by approximately 20 per cent, resulting in a reduction of CO₂ / GHG emissions

Project specifics

The Consultant will support the PIU in all aspects of project implementation, including preparation of detailed designs, technical specifications, tender documentation, assistance with tendering, tender evaluation and contract finalization, administration and supervision of the contract implementation, as well as set up of the disbursement system
