29 September 2021

Elena Rybak presented the results of the Baseline Gender Assessment in Kazakhstan at the National Gender Equality Panel on September 24, 2021.

Some findings of the Assessment:

  • it is necessary to improve information support for “green” business projects with a focus on female audiences;
  • there is no gender discrimination in access to “green” funding, but the traditional roles of men and women remain;
  • women can be a driving force in the fight against climate change, provided they have the necessary knowledge and financing tools.

The event was organized under the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) implemented by EBRD. The topics of gender equality and equal access to green finance are one of the key issues for the EBRD.
